Requesting Donations for Preschool Building

Dear Usan people, friends, and family,

Preschool is a vital part of a child’s education and an important asset to a village. It gives young children the foundation they need to become well prepared for their educational journey, and tremendously increases their opportunities to grow. In order for a child to effectively experience the benefits of preschool, a permanent facility is an utmost need.

Our beloved village is sadly missing a stand-alone preschool building. But thankfully, a great opportunity has been given to Usan to construct a permanent preschool building. Due to the relentless efforts of the Usan Ramanathan Preschool committee, World Vision Lanka has agreed to donate a portion of the funds needed to create the building. The proposal to construct the building requested Rs.37,00,000/=, and World Vision Lanka has agreed to provide Rs.27,00,000/=. This means that the committee has to come up with the remaining Rs.10,00,000/=.

To fulfill this need, the Usan Ramanathan Preschool Development Committee has been formed with Mr. K. Vimalathas as the President, Mrs. Gobika Matheesan as the Secretary, and Mr. K. S. Selvaruban as the Treasurer. This committee is now seeking our help, along with the help of other well wishers, to complete this project.

We, the United People Association of Usan in Canada, are kindly asking for your support, and that you consider donating to help make this dream a reality. On top of the minimum Rs.10,00,000/=, there is always unexpected additional costs for such a big project, and after construction is over, the preschool will need items like furniture, play equipment, etc. to fulfill it’s purpose and goals. Keeping all of this in mind, please donate generously.

For those who wish to donate, you can do so in one of two ways. First, you can do so through the United People Association of Usan in Canada. Please e-transfer your contribution to our Treasurer, Mr. Saravanamuththu Patmakanthan, at pathman.s1@hotmail.com, and then send him a separate email with your full mailing or e-mail address for a receipt. The second way to donate is by directly sending your contribution to the Usan Ramanathan Preschool Development Committee through the Kodikamam branch of the Bank of Ceylon. Please send your donation to the account number 87030672.

For those of you who are able to donate, please do so by February 10, 2021. Any amount can help make a huge difference. However, we do understand that in these unprecedented times, you may not be able to donate, in which case we kindly ask you to support this cause by sharing this post.

உசன் இராமநாதன் முன்பள்ளி - கட்டிட நிதி உதவி

ஒரு கிராமத்தின் வளர்ச்சியில் பாடசாலை எவ்வளவு முக்கிய பங்கு வகிக்கிறதோ அதற்கு இணையான பங்கை முன்பள்ளியும் வகிக்கிறது.  ஆரம்பக் கல்வியை செவ்வனே ஊட்டி இளையவர்களைப் பாடசாலைக் கல்விக்குத் தயார் செய்யும் ஒரு பாரிய பொறுப்பை முன்பள்ளி வகிக்கின்றது. இப்படியான ஒரு முன்பள்ளிக்கு எமது தாய்க்கிராமமாம் உசனிலே இதுவரை ஒரு நிரந்தரக் கட்டிடம் இல்லாதிருப்பது பெருங்குறையே.

இந்தக் குறையை நிவர்த்தி செய்வதற்கான அரிய சந்தர்ப்பமொன்று வந்துள்ளது. உசன் இராமநாதன் முன்பள்ளி நிர்வாகத்தின் அயராத முயற்சியால் World Vision Lakna எனும் அரச சார்பற்ற தொண்டு நிறுவனம் ஒரு நிரந்தரக் கட்டிடத்தைக் கட்டித்தர முன்வந்துள்ளது.  இதற்காக 37 இலட்சம் ரூபாவுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்ட 

மதிப்பீடு நிபந்தனையோடு அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்த நிரந்தரக் கட்டிடத்தைக் கட்டுவதற்கு World Vision Lakna 27 இலட்சம் ரூபாவை வழங்க முன்வந்துள்ளது.  மிகுதி 10 இலட்சம் ரூபாவை உசன் இராமநாதன் முன்பள்ளி வழங்கவேண்டும் என்பதே நிபந்தனை.  இந்த நிலையில் உசன் இராமநாதன் முன்பள்ளி நிர்வாகம் உசன் மக்களிடமும் மற்றும் கொடையாளிகளிடமும் நிதி உதவி கேட்டு விண்ணப்பித்துள்ளது.

இந்த முயற்சியை வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவேற்றுவதற்காக உசன் இராமநாதன் முன்பள்ளி அபிவிருத்திக் குழு ஒன்று அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன் தலைவராக உசன் கந்தசாமி கோவில் தர்மகர்த்தா கு. விமலதாஸ் அவர்களும், செயலாளராக கோபிகா மதீசன் அவர்களும், பொருளாளராக சாவகச்சேரி பிரதேச சபை உறுப்பினர் கா. சி. செல்வரூபன் அவர்களும் தெரிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

இந்தக் கட்டிடத்துக்கான காணியை வழங்குவதற்கு திரு விமலதாஸ் அவர்கள் முன்வந்துள்ளார்.

கட்டிட நிதிக்காக உசன் மக்கள் சார்பில் 10 இலட்சம் ரூபா வைப்பிலிடவேண்டும்.  இதைவிட தளபாடங்கள் உட்பட மேலதிக செலவுகளும் ஏற்படும் என்பதையும் கருத்திற்கொண்டு முடிந்தவரை நிதி உதவியைச் செய்யவேண்டுமென உசன் மக்களை உசன் ஐக்கிய மக்கள் ஒன்றியம் - கனடா வேண்டிநிற்கின்றது.

இந்த நிதியை Feb. 15 திகதிக்கு முன்பாக வங்கிக்கணக்கில் வைப்பிலிடவேண்டும்.  ஏற்கனவே பொருளாளர் செல்வரூபன் அவர்களின் வேண்டுகோளையேற்று பலர் நிதிப் பங்களிப்புச் செய்வதாக உறுதியளித்துள்ளனர்.  ஏனையோரும் விரைவாக முன்வந்து நிதி உதவி செய்து இந்த நற்காரியம் வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவேற உதவ வேண்டும்.

"உசன் உறவுகள் - சர்வதேச இணைய விழா" சிறப்பாகவும், வெற்றிகரமாகவும் நடைபெற்று முடிந்திருப்பதை உங்களிடமிருந்து வரும் வாழ்த்துகளும், பாராட்டுகளும், நன்றிகளும் பறைசாற்றி நிற்கின்றன. இப்படியான ஒரு நிகழ்வை வழங்க முடிந்ததையிட்டு உசன் ஐக்கிய மக்கள் ஒன்றியம் - கனடா பெருமை கொள்கிறது.

Toronto நேரம் காலை 7 மணிக்கு இணைப்பை ஏற்படுத்த முடியும் என்று அறிவித்திருந்தபோதும், காலை 6:30 மணிக்கு இணைப்பை ஆரம்பித்தபோதே மக்கள் காத்திருந்தது நிகழ்வின் வெற்றியைக் கட்டியம் கூறியது. அந்த நேரத்தில் இணைந்தவர்கள் கலை நிகழ்வுகள் முடியும்வரை தொடர்ந்திருந்தது நிகழ்ச்சியின் தரத்தை எடுத்துக்கூறியது.

கிட்டத்தட்ட 158 இணைப்புகள் ஒரே நேரத்தில் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டிருந்தன. ஒரு இணைப்பில் ஒன்றுக்கு மேற்பட்டவர்கள் குடும்பமாக நிகழ்ச்சிகளை பார்த்தும், கேட்டும் மகிழ்ந்தனர். New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, UK, Sri Lanka, USA, Canada என்று 13 இற்கு மேற்பட்ட நாடுகளிலிருந்து நேர வித்தியாசத்தையும் கடந்து பார்வையாளர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டது நிகழ்ச்சிக்குச் சிறப்பே.

கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகள் அத்தனையும் மிகவும் சிறப்பாக இருந்தன. கிட்டத்தட்ட மூன்றரை மணித்தியாலங்கள் கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகள் இடம்பெற்றன. அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து உறவுகளோடு உரையாடல் ஆரம்பித்து மேலும் இரு மணித்தியாலங்கள் நீடித்தது. ஒருவரை ஒருவர் தேடித் தேடிக் கதைத்தார்கள். உள்ளத்தில் உறங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த உணர்வுகள் அப்போது கொழுந்துவிட்டு எரிய ஆரம்பித்தன. பலர் உணர்ச்சிவசப்பட்டுக் காணப்பட்டனர். கண்கள் பனிக்க, இதயம் படபடக்க பிரிய மனமின்றிப் பலர் பிரிந்து சென்றனர்.

கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகளை வழங்கிய கலைஞர்களுக்கு பலரும் வாழ்த்துகளைத் தெரிவித்தவண்ணமுள்ளனர். உசன் ஐக்கிய மக்கள் ஒன்றியம் - கனடாவும் இந்தக் கலைஞர்களுக்குத் தனது நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறது.

நிகழ்ச்சித் தொகுப்பாளர் ஜோதி ஜெயகுமாருக்குப் பாராட்டுகள் வந்து குவிந்தவண்ணமுள்ளன. நிகழ்ச்சிகளைச் சிறப்பாகவும், சில சமயங்களில் உணர்ச்சிவசப்பட்டும் அவர் தொகுத்தளித்தது நிகழ்ச்சியின் வெற்றிக்கு இன்னுமொரு காரணம்.

"அந்தத் தம்பிக்கும் எங்கள் நன்றியையும், வாழ்த்துகளையும், பாராட்டுகளையும் தெரிவித்துவிடுங்கள்" என்று பலர் வேண்டுகோள் விடுத்திருந்தனர். நிகழ்வுகள் தொய்வின்றி தொடர தொழில்நுட்பத்தில் கடுமையாக உழைத்த கீரனையே அவர்கள் "தம்பி" என்று உரிமையோடு அழைத்தனர்.

A few notes about Saturday's "Usan Uravukal - Global Celebration"

1. You can join the meeting at 7 a.m. EST / 12 p.m. UK / 1 p.m. Europe & Scandinavia / 5:30 p.m. Sri Lanka / 11 p.m. Sydney. (Please join as early as you can to get better seat.)

2. The performances will start at 7:30 a.m. EST.

3. When you join the meeting you will be asked to give consent to the Host to unmute you. Please grant this consent. Otherwise the Host cannot unmute you.

4. When you join the meeting your microphone will be muted and webcam will be off. You can unmute yourselves and activate the webcam.

5. When you join the meeting, you will also be given an option to change your display name. Please enter a name that others can easily identify you. You can also change the display name after joining the meeting within the participants list by selecting the MORE option against your name.

6. During the performances all microphones will be muted by the Host. No one will be able to unmute themselves. This is to prevent unnecessary background noises..

7. It is highly recommended to keep your webcam activated as a courtesy for others to see you.

8. At the end of the performances all microphones will be unmuted by the Host, so that you can talk to others. If you haven't given the consent to Host to unmute you, you may unmute yourselves.

9. During the performances, you can show your appreciation to the performers by clapping in front of the webcam. Remember that they cannot hear as your microphone will be muted. Also there is a "Reaction" button in the Zoom screen. You can choose to send one of the available reactions to show your appreciation.

10. If your devices have more than one microphone or speaker, you can choose which one to use by clicking the up arrow on the microphone icon at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

11. You can keep your screen in either Gallery View or Speaker View. Click on the 'View' option on the top right hand corner of the screen.

12. A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: IF MORE THAN ONE DEVICE WILL BE USED FROM THE SAME HOUSEHOLD, PLEASE KEEP THOSE DEVICES APART. KEEPING THEM CLOSE TO EACH OTHER WILL CREATE ECHO EFFECT.
